Nowdays, you could find Facebook logo almost everywhere. I believe this would be the right moment you could start considering it as a powerful Marketing Tool.

So, if you already have a Facebook account for you and your online business, way to go. But if you don’t, please think again.

Over the last six months, we have been learning how to use Facebook to increase an online presence and to engage with customers directly. Check some of the reason Why social media and Facebook are important:

Why FacebookWhen we talk about Social Media, we have to consider at least the three most important tools: Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. We also advised our clients to start a Blog in order to get read by as many potential clients as you can (please ask us how you could start your own Blog ASAP). In third place, there is your SEO program which is focused on Google, Live, Yahoo! and Ask.com

With said, when you are not getting enough results from your website, you must check this items separately:

  • Content management. Are you writing enough for your own site?
  • Blogging. Is there a Blog you frequently add entries?
  • Social Media. Do you use Facebook?
  • SEO. Have you hired a Company focused on those services?
  • Offers: How often do you have some kind of offer to promote?
  • Emails. Have you considered a Newsletter campaing?

But let’s go back to our topic, Facebook.

Facebook helps to connect people but also, would help you to found your website. Let’s say it contributes to get found and sharing, to connect and engage, to create a community and promote your content (relevant content from your website and your own blog).

However, you should consider these simple steps in order to get started with Facebook:

  1. Sign up and create your Personal Profile first and then, create your business page. With your Personal Profile you will have “friends” but with you Business page, you will get “fans”.
  2. Check your settings and choose a good URL. Include at least 3 of your main keywords (do not overload it).
  3. Check out interesting Applications and set your Privacy settings. Take your time.
  4. Create your own network from your search related terms and try to join them.
  5. Start sharing photos, links, videos
  6. As soon as you are ready to create your business page, choose the right Product or Brand because this cannot be changed later. Try to use you own keywords on the name of the products, for instance.
  7. Then, Become a Fan of your own business page.

Here is where the cash is!: DO NOT included benefits, offers or only positive comments about your own services. When you share content on your Facebook business page, try to focus on your potential customer problems, what do they need, what do they complain about, and try to give them answers to their questions.

Finally, include a Facebook logo linked to your business page. Consider including it on Mails Signatures, Blogs and of course, on your on Web Site.

Later on, you must consider Advertising on Facebook. If so, it happen to be very importante to target your audience and please, choose PPC (Pay Per Click campaigs). Pay Per View (PPV) might makes you loose money and time. If you are running Advertising on Facebook please ask your Marketing Advisor to help to measure and how to track the success of your Facebook programs.
